Update June 2020
Finally, we’ve almost got the new blog arrangements sorted. We’re uploading all our photos to the cloud in a product called SmugMug, time and wifi strength permitting.
We plan to write a bit less frequently but have more pictures in SmugMug with explanatory captions.
Update June 2018
How time flies! Yes, with thanks to the blog readers who’ve reminded me, I do realise that we’re now way behind with posts. We had a big wedding-driven trip starting in November last year to Australia (NSW) via Eugene, Oregon, USA then to New Zealand then back to Australia (Victoria this time) and finally back to the UK in late March this year.
It’s been extremely busy since returning, but as soon as I can finish sorting out photographs, we’ll get back up to date.
Update, September 11, 2017 from south-west France:
We're presently in Montignac, one of many old character-laden villages and towns on the river systems of France, in this case the Vézère, which joins with the Dordogne downstream. We're in a €5 aire (including electricity!) and in a secluded
corner of it, so we'll stay another night or two to visit the world-renowned Lascaux IV exhibition of ancient man's cave paintings.
Our plans today to cycle to a nearby village, one of the "plus beaux" villages of France, were rained out so it presented an opportunity to update the blog. It's still missing a lot; photos etc that I hope to be able to find time
to get back to, but at least I've sorted out the blank dated bits of the blog and we're up to date as of three days ago!
Update July 24, 2017 - Sydney visit plans!
Weddings are in the news! Sam, Pauline's grandson, marries Kellie in Sydney on December 30 and Mitch, Hazel's grandson, marries Kendra in Wellington NZ on January 12.
We are booked to arrive in Sydney on November 30 and fly to NZ early January. We'll also make side trips from Sydney north to Forster and south to Nowra. After Mitch and Kendra's wedding we'll be taking the opportunity to really visit NZ, doing a lot of cycle touring, until early March when we fly to Melbourne. We'll be in Victoria for a couple of weeks, attending a Bike Friday cycling event in Bendigo before departing on March 28 for London.
