The British Museum, as one would expect, presented this candid exhibition with sensitivity and understanding about the culture of Australia's First People. Highly rated, it was only on for a brief period. No photos allowed, of course.

Visited (again) the excellent National Railway Museum in York, commemorating 50 years since Sir Winston Churchill's funeral.

Met up with our good Melbourne friends from the seventies, Alison and Andrew.
Took one of the free York walking tours.

First stage of our frequent commute into London - ride to Hampton Court Station.
Twenty minutes on South West Trains into Waterloo.
Then on foot or in the Tube past London's varied architectural mix; noted this building near Waterloo with an inscription that reads "Under the Patronage of Her Majesty - GENERAL LYING-IN HOSPITAL and Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales".

In perfect weather we strolled past Tate Britain, taking a peek at the magnificently restored staircase and dome.
Lunched at the iconic Morpeth Arms...
...where we learned about the derivation of a particular bit of slang.
